WHO WE ARE

ABOUT HOLD COMMUNITY INITIATIVE

Hold Community Initiative was founded in 2022, and legally registered at district level-Namayingo District, a year later in 2023, with a profound commitment to addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by persons with disabilities.

The inception of the organization was a response to the prevalent gaps in support systems and opportunities for individuals with diverse abilities. We work to reach those furthest from necessary social services and opportunities by working as a bridge with their caregivers and the community around them. This helps these vulnerable groups build better lives for themselves, enhance their resilience capabilities, and cultivate durable change.

HOCI’s interventions catalyze access to education, health and social-economic empowerment through service provision and capacity strengthening. We empower caregivers, teachers and institutions to nurture and support children, women, girls, men and boys children, with disabilities to reach their full potential with dignity.

Funding Sources:

HOCI relies on a diverse range of funding sources to support its programs, services, and advocacy efforts aimed at empowering persons with disabilities. The organization employs a strategic and sustainable approach to financial management, ensuring stability and growth. The funding sources include:

Private Foundations and Philanthropy, Corporate Sponsorships, Individual Donations and Fundraising Campaigns, Community and Grassroots Support, Membership and Subscription Programs, and Grants from International Organizations

By diversifying its funding sources, HOCI ensures financial resilience, reduces dependency on any single funding stream, and maximizes its capacity to create lasting positive change for persons with disabilities. The organization maintains transparency and accountability in its financial practices to build trust with donors and stakeholders.

Vision

HOCI’s vision of a fully inclusive Uganda where children, women, girls, men and boys with disabilities can realize their maximum potential from an informed perspective. We believe in a world where children, women, girls, men and boys with disabilities live free from violence, exploitation, and discrimination and have equal opportunities to succeed.
